Art

Art & Design is taught across the school from Early Years to Year 2. The children have the opportunity to develop a wide range of art and design techniques and skills in using colour, pattern, texture, line, shape, form and space. They will experience and use a range of tools and materials. Our aim is that children will be able to talk about being an artist. They will be able to talk about the skills, techniques and process they have learnt and relate this to their own pieces of art and design, reflecting on the progress they have made. The skills we learn build each year, for example, in Early Years we explore and experiment how we can colour mix with the three magic colours and in Year 2 we use colour mixing skills to create a green tonal landscape only using the magic colours.
